A group of Canadian conservationists mistook an albino grizzly bear for a polar bear and transported it over the Arctic Circle. Waking up in the ice, the bear went out to the polar explorers, the Trendymen newspaper reports.
An albino grizzly named Joy suddenly disappeared from a nature reserve in Canada. His disappearance was noticed quickly, because the bear was well known to local zoologists – it is the only albino in the entire reserve. They started looking for the bear.
At that time, albino Joy was already in the North. After waking up from anesthesia, the grizzly began to wander around. At some point, he went out to the base of the polar explorers. Local experts quickly determined that it was not a polar bear. We checked his database and actually saw information about the missing albino. The Albino bear was carefully captured, euthanized, and flown back to Canada by helicopter.
The culprits of the incident were discovered only a month later. It turned out that the local branch of Greenpeace was engaged in catching and transporting the "white" bear. Conservationists could not distinguish an albino bear from a polar bear, which was the reason for the grizzly's journey beyond the Arctic Circle.
It is reported that after the incident, scouts of the National Park near the habitat of the albino grizzly bear installed a number of warning signs with the inscription: "This is an albino! He lives here!"
